This is the best science curriculum I have found for my 2nd grader!! Just enough information for him to retain and stay engaged!

I am using NOEO biology with my 1st grader. My first observation is super knit-picky, but buying from Logos, I expected it to be science from a biblical worldview? When one of the additional books said that all invertebrates evolved from a single ancestor millions of years ago, I realized it wasn’t. Not a dealbreaker, but I was mildly surprised.
Second, as others have noted, the two separate books aren’t necessary, they could be consolidated. Outside of experiments the only assignments are written answers to questions. I don’t think these books would work particularly well for grades 1-3 (my 1st grader doesn’t know what “microorganisms” are and there wasn’t an explanation) but if they fit your child’s level, and you don’t mind collecting a couple experiment materials (that you may or may not have around the house, like styrofoam sheets or 2 liter bottles) it’s a fine curriculum that will get the job done.

Got this for my kindergartner. She loves it! The experiments are fun and she is learning so much already. It’s all very user friendly. The instructor’s manual is perfectly laid out and so helpful. We are very happy with it and definitely plan to continue using this curriculum.

So thankful for this curriculum! It is great for multiple ages moves quickly, but is well flushed out. The kids really enjoy the different readers and
Experiments.

My Grandson age 5 loves this. Wants to do more science. I ordered a second book and experiment kits for my older Grandson. But, he didn't try. Age 8.
But, my granddaughter watched us do an experiment and 3 older public school children took over the 2nd kit and wow they love doing it ages 9, 10 and 11. They said at school they never done anything like this.

I like the curriculum but I don’t love it. I ordered the Biology 1 for grades 1-3 and it wasn’t enough for my 3rd grader. I feel like this could be better labeled for grades K-2. I have to supplement a lot to get her where she needs to be. Also, the workbook isn’t necessary. We can ask the reading follow up questions without it, so it’s something we don’t use at all.

I ordered this for my first grader. He is a kinesthetic learner and a voracious reader. We practiced a lot of Charlotte Mason’s principles in kindergarten and he absolutely THRIVED! Noeo is exactly what we needed for science. The living books are all exciting and there are lots of hands on experiments. The manual is simple and not overwhelming like other curriculums. I only wish our charter school would partner with Noeo. THANK YOU!

I used this curriculum this year for my 2nd grader (who is 7) and it was by far his favorite part of the school day. We loved the engaging books, the structure topics, the experiments, and the open and go format. It was good quality and easy to use so I would definitely recommend it to others!
(Just as a note to the creators, the only experiment that didn't work was the freezer playdoh one- it never changed color).

As a brand new homeschool mom I was looking for an open and go science curriculum. This is it! It has been such a blessing for my kids. Science is now my kids favorite subject.

Homeschooling science has become my child’s favorite subject since starting Noeo! We have genuinely enjoyed the experiments as well as the book selection. We use Biology 1 for first grade as well as Physics 1 and the content seems to be perfect for the grade range recommended. I also appreciate that the experiment kits include most of the materials needed (there is just a few things needed otherwise). Highly recommend this curriculum for busy families, or anyone that wants a more open and go approach. When you can get the manuals, kits and books in one shipment its so much easier to plan for the year!

So far, I like the curriculum but I wish that there were more illustrations and referring to related videos in every lesson. Also, I wish there were different types of questions rather than just essay questions.

We don’t use this curriculum anymore. Spent a ton of money on it, but feel it sent so many books but have to do a ton of prep and educating myself outside of the curriculum, as well as find videos and explain far more than what is provided.

Our kids are engaged, enjoy the stories & the experiments. We’re taking our time with the curriculum.. beauty of homeschooling!

This has been our favorite curriculum this year! The hands-on activities are perfect for our two active boys and they have learned a lot from the living books. They actually beg to start the school day with Biology 1! As a working mom, I appreciate that it is open and go and doesn't require a lot of scheduling and planning on my end.
