Chemistry 2 (Grades 4-6)

We ordered this curriculum for the coming school year. We've used Noeo Science for the last 3 years and love the open and go aspect of this curriculum! I am particularly thankful for the experiment kits!

So far Chemistry 2 has been ok. There have been typos in the lab manual where it repeats the first few steps of an experiment again at the end of the experiment (for at least 2 experiments so far) which caused some confusion for us. Some of the experiments have not been successful which has caused frustration for my son. For instance we attempted the experiment where the cork shoots out of the top of the bottle due to the reaction between baking soda and vinegar, but the experiment was unsuccessful even though it was tried several times. There have also been some experiments that are repeats from the previous year which is disappointing as he would like to try something new for a more advanced course.
Overall the content seems good and my Son who loves to read has enjoyed the textbook materials (some textbooks we already had from the Noeos Science course we did last year - a bonus for me as it made it more affordable).

Great bundle! Extremely valuable. Well structured, all the materials for experiences are included. Great books.

Thankful for the kits for experiments and easy to follow schedule!

I love the rigor of this program. Amd the redesign so that there's one experiment a week. However, not all the experiments are working well, or I have to troubleshoot them because the instructions are not complete. I have a chemistry degree, so this shouldn't be happening.

Chemistry 2

So far we are liking but not loving it. I am homeschooling my 2 granddaughters who are 9 and 11. I wish we had started with a level one when the girls were younger. It is a little hard for the 9 year old. They love the experiments though. Sometimes the various readings seem a little disjointed and random.

I enjoy science and love how easy it is to prepare for a lesson and share chemistry with my kids. My youngest even enjoys doing the experiments and is learning with the oldest. Perfect!

This program has been wonderful for my 6th grader. It's a little over my 4th graders' head. We love the experiments, and we love the bite sized chunks of info. Neither of my girls enjoys Science in general, but this curriculum has made it very approachable and interesting for them.

Chemistry 2

We are only a few weeks into the curriculum, but I find it is a lot of reading to my kids. It is hard to keep their attention.

We love Noeo Science! They do a great job of making the science interesting and engaging. Lots of experiments. Lots of great books for reference.

I have been loving Noeo science's chemistry 2. It really is open and go... I don't have to do any extra prep work. The reading is not overwhelming and neither are the assignments. I love that there is an experiment/lab each week and that the ingredients are either provided or easily found at home (e.g. water). I especially love that it's not super time consuming it overwhelming for my son. It gives him the science knowledge without making him hate science.

This course is awesome!! You can tell a science teacher put this together. It is very clearly thought out, has a good pace, and has very good materials. My child is learning valuable skills such as writing out definitions and answering questions in complete sentences as well as science. The experiments are fairly simple but interesting.

My child could not do this alone but maybe in time will become independent enough to complete the work alone. This course will definitely improve my child’s skills in research, reading, and following directions.

Overall, this is a very good course and well worth the money. I will be purchasing more in the future.

My son is digging in deep with Chemistry 2! It is perfect for a science-minded 4th grader! The lessons are laid out in a straightforward format, and the materials needed for the experiments were easy to obtain with the list provided. I have added some supplementary items, but only because of his interest in particular topics.

Easy to do and fun experiments even for a regular schooled kid.

Chemistry 2 is what I’ve been looking for to teach about atoms in a fun way. What I like most, is that what is taught each day is in small chunks, but the information is new enough to grow their brain a bit. I’ve homeschooled for over 10 years, and have used several different science programs. So far, this is the first curriculum that my kids are actually learning from. Telling me about elements and chemical reactions as they see them in our every day life. Which is my goal, for them to see how science is always around us. This curriculum has been worth every penny spent. The only thing I’d recommend is looking ahead a few weeks just to make sure you don’t need to buy anything for any of the experiments.

This is the best laid out curriculum ever. We're planning on biology 2 next year and physics 3 the year after. Any chance NOEO can develop a math curriculum like the science ones? It makes homeschooling so easy!

This is our 6th year homeschooling and we have struggled every year finding an engaging science curriculum. This year has been fun & engaging! My kids look forward to science days! We are thankful to have found it this year!

My son is twice exceptional and loves chemistry so we were excited to get this curriculum and try it out. We are loving it! It is not an overload of material in a week which fits in with our relaxed style of homeschooling, there are enough experiments to keep him happy, and there are no worksheets, which he loves!

We will be using it next scool year but my son has already read a lot of the books and we are very excited to try it out the experiments. Bonus is that it made it to Perú pretty quickly in the middle of a pandemic. Thanks so much.
