I love Math Mammoth

I've only used 1A so far but I love it. It helps children understand concepts thoroughly before moving on and is easy for me as the mom to teach it. I feel like my kid is getting a really solid foundation in arithmetic. Also, I appreciate that it's visually uncluttered and not busy. Other math curricula distract my child and make it so he can't focus on the math problem. Finally, the instructions are written at a low-grade reading level so that sometimes my 5-year-old can read and execute independently! It's very good.

A great math curriculum

I am really happy with this curriculum. It is well thought out and easy to follow, which has made our math lessons smooth and enjoyable. One of the best features is the additional free resources provided by the author. There are links to resources, like educational games or videos created by the author, that help explain the math concepts, if I needed the additional help.

I also appreciate that this curriculum strikes a perfect balance between independence and guidance. It’s designed so that my daughter can work through many of the problems on her own, but the layout still supports me as the teacher when it’s time to introduce and explain new concepts. It’s definitely hands-off enough that I don’t have to walk her through every question, but structured enough that I remain an active part of her learning process.

Overall, Math Mammoth has made math fun and effective for us, and I’d highly recommend it to other parents or teachers looking for a strong, well-supported math curriculum!

Great introduction book

This book has been so great for our 5 year old. I have tried numerous books and techniques while trying to teach her, and she was having a hard time grasping the concept. Some books were either too easy or went straight to the math problems and she did not understand the concept. But the way this book introduces math makes it easy for her to visualize adding and subtracting. The examples and practice problems through the book were so helpful and she caught on so quickly. She is now able to add and subtract without even thinking about it. Highly recommend this book for your little one who is starting to learn math.

Easy to teach, easy to learn.

This is our second child to go through Math Mammoth 1-A worktext. I'm very happy with the ease of teaching-- and learning-- so many math concepts, and both children have enjoyed doing the books.

Math Mammoth Grade 1

I really like the Math Mammoth curriculum. The lessons laid out in the book are easy to understand and seem engaging to my daughter. I especially appreciate all the online resources that come with the curriculum to help me teach better - I was a little nervous about effectively teaching math to my children as that was something my parents really struggled with when homeschooling me and the online resources have been incredibly helpful!

I have tried an embarrassing number of math curricula…and my children and I prefer this one, by far. Very straightforward, easy to adapt to go slower or faster, and extremely cost effective. I recommend highly.
